”Father Diep performed a miracle for my grandchild”

I have five children who are healthy.  About a year ago one of my sons started a family and they gave birth to a child that was abnormal.  This caused my family much pain and suffering.

My grandchild had a missing body part right in the womb.  My daughter-in-law was miserable, but she hid this fact from our family until close to the time of the child’s birth.  When we learned of this, we only advised our children to go forward with the birth and to pray for God’s answers.  As had been diagnosed by the doctors, my grandchild was born with a cleft palate.  I prayed to Father Diep and left it up to him to save my grandchild, and to bless us with the patience to take care of him.  We were concerned that with such a congenital defect, how would he be able to suckle?

Raising our grandchild was truly difficult.  At the hospital, he was prescribed with a bottle that did not require the same normal suction.  We were worried if he could intake the milk.  But he was able to suckle right from the very first month.  When he turned one month old, we took him to a pediatrician specializing in birth defects.  Here, they said they can cure him but he had to gain enough weight so that he would have the strength to withstand such an operation that would require anesthesia.  I continued to pray for him and asked that Father Diep intercede with God on our behalf and to to give us the patience to take care of our grandchild and to receive the necessary care from the medical faculties.

W
hen our grandchild turned three months old, the specialists installed in his mouth a metal and rubber instrument.  Oh my God!  How could he eat, and how will he breathe?  His father, my son, followed the doctors’ instructions and adjusted the instrument three times a day so that his cleft palate would close up a little bit at a time.  Three times a day as such, each time he would bleed and cry out in pain.  It caused me tremendous pain to see this.  My grandchild had to tolerate this for three months continuously.  But the child was blessed and no matter how much pain he was in, he was able to suckle milk.  And that is how he came to be 12 pounds after three months, meeting the requirements for his surgery.

After the operation, we thanked God that our grandchild was healthy. Two months later, I asked for our grandchild to be baptized. I told my children: I have offered my grandchild to Father Buu Diep, so please take Father Buu Diep’s saint name for him.  My children agreed. His godparents also agreed to name him Frances.  Now he is more than a year old and can stand up and walk and eat healthily. This is truly a miracle that Father Diep have blessed my grandchild and our family with.

Fourteen years ago after a trip back to Vietnam, I fell ill. I went to the doctors to have an examination for chest pain. The results of tests indicated that I had a blood cancer (leukemia). I was referred to a hematologist/oncologist who was of Cuban origins. I was treated with chemotherapy three times in the course of three months.  The first time I received chemotherapy, my hair fell out and I became bald on my head like it was my knee. I was so week I could not go to the bathroom by myself. But after the third time, the doctors released me from the hospital.  Throughout my illness, I had pleaded and begged with Father Diep to save me, I prayed that God would bless me. Six months later, exam results showed that my disease had gone away. Clearly, I had experienced the great grace of Father Diep, because he had saved my life as he had with so many other people.

This time I come to California to do work for my employer, on the weekends, I go to Mass with my friends.  My friends tell me about Father Diep’s Foundation, so that is why I come here to testify for him.  I believe that if you pray in earnest, openly and honestly, with faith in your heart, that Father Diep will intercede on your behalf with God and gain his blessings no matter what troubles might befall you.  Do not be headstrong, but surrender to Father Diep and trust in him, he is holy.
